April

Anyone else feel like April was both the longest & shortest month of the year so far?? Haha it feels like it’s been a hot minute since Easter, yet I can’t believe it’s already May. I chose this month’s verse to remind my heart 1. how good it is to be in the presence of the Lord & 2. that He provides. Always. In the midst of searching for housing & plenty of other things, He has proven Himself faithful over & over this month. (Just a little disclaimer here, I’m still not great at memorizing all these verses, but it sure is sweet to start my morning at least writing them down & refocusing my heart.)

“How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart & flesh sing for joy to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, & the swallow a nest for herself where she may lay her young, at your alters, O Lord of hosts, my king & my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing Your praise.”

– Psalm 84:1-2

Dandelion Day – April 5th

If you don’t already know my love for these little wildflowers, you can read more about that here.

Maundy Thursday – April 6th

I baked my first loaf of sourdough bread! Friends & I got to break it together in celebration of communion in anticipation of Good Friday & Easter Sunday.

Good Friday – April 7th

My two favorite church services of the year are Christmas Eve & Good Friday. Very different, no? Christmas Eve comes with all the warm fuzzy feels of the arrival of our Savior. Good Friday on the other hand, is a time for mourning. It’s the remembrance of why we celebrate the baby boy – because He was coming to save us & the only way sacrifice. By His death, we are clean & whole. And that, my friends is GOOD news.

Holy Saturday – April 8th

This day usually feels a little strange to me. We just finished grieving Jesus’ death but we know how the story ends. Should we be happy or sad? The tension is in holding both & I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

Easter Sunday – April 9th

Only the best day ever! I’ve come to love Easter more & more each year because, well, it’s kind of what my whole beliefs are based on. If Jesus didn’t die on the cross & then literally RESURRECT Himself, none of what I believe would matter. But He did, so it does. I love getting to celebrate my risen Savior. Donate a Book Day – April 14th

So I didn’t celebrate this day on the actual day but later I made my way to my local park’s little donation library. How precious, right??

Piñata Day – April 18th

Obvi confetti-filled piñatas are my fave. Wanna see my diy piñata?? Check it our here.

Eras Day – April 22nd

Sorry Earth Day, this year April 22nd was Taylor’s day. Best. Show. Ever. 🎉 Currently in my Fearless Era. What about you??

Pretzel Day – April 26th

Sometimes celebrations look like eating pretzels in your cubicle from a plastic baggie…it’s still a celebration.

Board

If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m a planner. I dream up gatherings hoping to one day execute them. So here’s the same dance & song. Two words: Princess Diaries. Don’t these movies make you want to try your hand at balloon dart art painting & slide downstairs on none other than a mattress? Well you’re in good company because same. My day job is working at a retreat center so there is no shortage or staircases for mattress surfing & fun gals to so with. I was thrilled when our bosses gave us the go ahead to plan this fun slumber party for the ladies on staff. We didn’t make it to the second movie, but we had a blast trying (& failing lol) at the movie-inspired activities & watching the first flick.

Is it even a movie night if you don’t have the proper snacks? The Cheese Board Deck again proved itself useful for all the inspo.

And just as a helpful tip if you want to try your hand at balloon dart art painting – go for the metal darts & add a little water to the paint in your balloons to make them splatter better!
