Hey, there! A couple weekends ago I graduated from college which means there was a par-tay to commemorate the day. Mom and Dad worked hard to put together a fun, confetti-filled celebration. Because she planned it, I thought it’d be fun to have a guest post from the original confetti queen herself.
Here’s what mom had to say:
“Hip, hip hooray! It’s Graduation Day! I loved planning this post graduation gathering for my head of the class. After a busy afternoon of celebrating and an evening ceremony, I wanted to host a simple, fun reception in our home. A self-serving refreshment bar scored an A+ allowing guests to help themselves to treats and freeing me up to focus on their company.
“Cookies, coffee, and confetti were the triple threat inspiration for the after party. My mother enrolled as a co-baker and recipes were carefully chosen and assigned. A variety of confections created the sweetest display. The Honor Roll of Cookies included a class favorite chocolate chip recipe that made it’s way to higher learning through college care packages semester after semester. Fellow cookie mates included Snickerdoodles, Lemon Drops, Cranberry Pecan Oatmeal, Confetti Scones, Jan Hagels, and Lavender Lemon Shortbread. Several creamers accompanied fresh coffee drinks along with ice-cold milk to pair with cookie choices.”
I am so grateful for the love and support of friends and family who have helped me get to this point. This gathering was most definitely a sweet ending to a new beginning. Thank you, mom, for your special touches that bring people together.
P.S. Lemme tell ya these chocolate chip cookies are fab-u-lous. Even friends of mine who aren’t chocolate lovers, love them! Here’s the recipe so you can try them for yourself!
